My First Blog!
My first blog!!
This is probably going to seem like it has been said over and over again but I feel like it just needs to be said again. Over the last week I've see posts on Twitter and Facebook with other streamers feeling like they're not getting enough chatters in their streams. They complain about the view counts and not getting followers etc etc. I remember when I started I pretty much felt the same way. I made the mistake of letting it get to me resulting in taking a huge break from streaming. Biggest mistake I ever made was worrying about the view count and follower count.
I have been streaming since August of 2017. I remember in the beginning how I used to really stress about the view count. and how I would shut the stream down if no one came in. This is a huge no no when it comes to streaming. I felt like I wasn't having fun while streaming because I was so focused on the numbers game.
One of the biggest changes I made which could help others is taking away anything on your OBS that would show view count. It can really be disheartening to keep looking at the count not going up. So I just took it out. I streamed as if I had hundreds of people watching. I would literally talk to myself if I wasn't playing with friends. That brings up another change I did. I would try to focus my streaming schedule with other friends so that I would have someone to play with.Grouping up with friends helped a huge deal. It would bring laughs and great conversations that would draw people to want to chat on the stream. I'm so glad I didn't stop streaming all together. It has been an absolute blast streaming after the changes I made.
Basically what I am trying to say is don't give up! Stick with it and make sure if you do that you are having fun. Play what you want to play and don't worry about the numbers. Network with other streamers. Make friends and build on those relationships. Learn from your mistakes and make the necessary changes. Learn from watching other streamers as well. Streaming is a marathon not a sprint. Keep grinding and having fun doing it!
Thanks for reading and have a good one!
